Exploring ZFS(On NixOS)

This article is about exploring ZFS and all it's benefits and disadvantages compared to other filesystems, namely BTRFS, LVM/Mdadm and Stratis Storage(WHich is essentially Raid0 with XFS at this time). Other more niche filesystems will be explored too, such as HAMMER2 and NILFS2(In virtual machines).

First of all, I'd like to thank Michael W. Lucas for writing a great book on ZFS, called ZFS Mastery. It's intended primarly for FreeBSD and Debian folks, but the concepts presented helped me learn ZFS in general. Please check out all his books!
